2020 dates for UK yarn and fibre festivals

Let’s plan a great day out

If you’re a knitter or crocheter, then there’s nothing like a day out to see inspirational textiles and squish beautiful yarn. Inhale the yarn fumes and absorb the colour! It’s good for your sense of well-being since you’ll return brimming with inspiration and wanting to create things immediately. Take some time this festive season to plan some fun days at UK yarn and fibre festivals in 2020.

If you read this blog regularly you will know that I love to use British yarn. It’s not that I think British yarn is better than yarn from elsewhere, but I think it’s important to support locally produced products and producers. Here in the UK, we are lucky to have a lot of small companies spinning and dying beautiful yarns as well as farmers with flocks of different sheep breeds. One of the best places to see and buy these wonderful yarns is at one of the many UK yarn and fibre festivals. There are several new yarn and fibre festivals in 2020.

This list of yarn and fibre festivals is for the UK only: it includes dates and venues as well as links to websites. Read this blog post for 2020 yarn and fibre festivals in the rest of Europe. If you organise a yarn and fibre festival that is not listed, then let me know via the ‘contact me’ tab at the bottom of the page or leave details in the comments below.

Dear Nicki, a very tardy « Thank You » for including us in your listing. We were thrilled with the success of our first event last year, and are delighted to have filled every vendor spot, and have a waiting list for this year’s event, which promises to be even bigger and better! We’re just working on workshops and Social events now, and will be updating our website and social media regularly.

Thanks again for your support, we greatly appreciate it.

Ps: if Aberdeen is a bit far away for a day trip, we urge you to check out http://www.visitabdn.com and see for yourself what a great weekend or holiday destination it is!
